Rewrite for Apache-how to???

I plan on install typo3 in the htdocs\os2notes\ directory, however the address will be:
http://os2notes.gotdns.org/os2notes/index.php

But I want to use the rewrite option in apache, so the address will look like this:
http://os2notes.gotdns.org/index.php

Anyone out there, that can help?
